How to disable Simplified Account Creation in Outlook version 2016 or higher?

Microsoft Outlook version 2016 and above has Simplified Account Creation feature, just type in your email and password, it will setup your email account automatic. However,  you may revert to old method email account setup by editing registry.

Steps to disable Simplified Account Creation

  1. Press Windows + R to show Run dialog box.
  2. Type “regedit” at Run dialog box.
  3. In registry editor, local the subkey in registry : 
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\setup
  4. Create New DWORD (32-bit) Value.
  5. Name it “DisableOffice365SimplifiedAccountCreation” and set value to 1.
  6. Open Outlook and traditional email account creation was reverted.
